Learning by Heart: Teachings to Free The Creative Spirit. Corita Kent and Jan Steward. Just looked this up on Amazon and the price is horrendous. It must be a mistake.
The Artists Way by Julia Cameron. This book has been around for some time but is still a good read.
Trust the Process: An Artist's Guide to Letting Go by Shaun McNiff.
Celebrate your Creative Self by Mary Todd Bell..Nicely put together book offering exercises to free up your creativity.
Artists' Journals and Sketchbooks: Exploring and Creating Personal Pages. by Lynne Perella. Recent book with great ideas for the latest rage for making artistic journals.
The Mission of Art by Alex Grey. This is an inspirational text for anyone who has ever glimpsed art's spiritual power. Alex Grey is an amazing visionary artist and although you may not like his style of art you will be amazed at his work. visit www.alexgrey.com/
Change your Handwriting Change your Life by Vimala Rodgers. An interesting approach to self discovery.
The Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukav. Thought, evolution and reincarnation by one of Oprah's favourite guests. You will either really love this book or hate it.
Smart Talk by Lou Tice of the Pacific Institute in Seattle. A wonderful man and a life changing speaker. I have been privileged to have been on his Investment in Excellence course several times and seen the life changing effect his course has made in many peoples lives. It is a major underpinning of my own life. Not as good as the actual video course but a great book anyway. Making Room for Making Art by Sally Warner. A thoughtful and practical guide to bringing the pleasure of artistic expression back into your life.
The War of Art: Winning The Inner Creative Battle by Steven Pressfield who wrote the novel for the film The Legend of Bagger Vance. A book in three parts to inspire you to get working on your art or writing and achieve your innate potential.
Signs of Life: The Five Universal Shapes and How to Use Them. This book by Angeles Arrien is absolutely beautiful.
The Artist Inside. A spiritual guide to cultivating your creative self. This is by Tom Crockett and he looks at art from a Shamanic perspective.
I have checked the ratings for all these books on Amazon and most have a five star rating. I knew they were good!
