Dorothy Thelwall

Dorothy is a wonderful friend and fantastic artist who lives and works amidst a beautiful garden setting in a small village in North Yorkshire, UK.

Her background as a naturalist and her keen interest in gardening has strongly influenced the imagery contained in her art.   She loves organic forms, texture and colour and uses these elements very skillfully in a semi abstract way.

As well as painting she has recently been developing a series of large tapestries based on faces.  These were originally conceived as small collages made from cut up magazines but she has recreated them as very large and unique textile works.
